3.36.010 - Authority.
The provisions of this chapter are enacted pursuant to the authority provided by Title 3, Division 3, Chapter 2, Article 12 of the California Government Code establishing a "criminal justice administrative fee" (29950 et seq.) and as said provisions may be amended from time to time.

3.36.020 - Liability.
Pursuant to the authority vested in the city by state statute, each person who is arrested and convicted of any criminal offense shall be liable for any criminal justice administrative fee imposed by the County of Placer upon the city.

3.36.030 - Collection of fee.
The cost of the criminal justice administrative fee shall be charged against the person liable for said fee as provided in this chapter. The charge constitutes a debt of that person to the city, and is collectable by the city in the same manner as in the case of an obligation under a contract, express or implied. The city will issue an invoice to the responsible person for the cost of the criminal justice administrative fee incurred by the city. All judicial actions for judgment and collection of the debt obligation herein shall be filed in the Placer County Municipal Court, small claims division, Lincoln, California. All moneys collected shall be placed in the city's general fund, and shall be included in city budget projects.
