Noise

  • Equipment Processes

    No equipment or process shall create noise, vibration, glare, fumes, odors or electrical interference detectable to normal senses off the premises.

  • Location

    A home occupation shall be conducted entirely within a dwelling which is the bona fide residence of the principal practitioner or in any building accessory thereto.

  • Nor more than four hundred (400) square feet of a permitted accessory structure, except that artists may use up to seven hundred (700) square feet.

  • Maximum Floor Area Percentage25 pct

    No home occupation shall be permitted which comprises more than twenty-five (25%) percent of the gross floor area of the residence.

  • Exterior Alterations

    No alterations to the exterior appearance of the principal residential building, any accessory structure, or premises shall be made which changes the residential character, except one transmission antenna not to exceed 5 feet in height for high-speed internet provider.

  • Heavy Equipment and Toxic Materials

    No use or storage of heavy vehicles or heavy equipment. No toxic, explosive, flammable, combustible, corrosive, radioactive or other dangerous materials.

  • Merchandise Sales and Storage

    No storage or display of goods shall be visible from outside the structure. No direct sales off display shelves, but orders by telephone or at sales party may be filled.

  • Non-Family Employee1 employee

    One employee, other than members of the family occupying such dwelling, shall be permitted to work on-site given one additional off-street parking space is provided.

  • Traffic and Parking

    No traffic shall be generated in greater volumes than normally expected in a residential neighborhood. Any parking generated must be on-site.

  • Signs

    No signs accessory to such home occupation shall be displayed except as otherwise permitted or authorized by town regulations.

Home occupations are permitted in any dwelling unit subject to limitations. No home occupation shall comprise more than 25% of gross floor area of residence, nor more than 400 sq ft of accessory structure, except artists may use up to 700 sq ft. One non-family employee allowed with additional parking.
