• Applicability

  Except as exempted by this section, these standards shall apply to all development and redevelopment in the City, including accessory structures that require a building permit.

• Berm slope

  The slope of all berms shall not exceed a three-to-one ratio (horizontal to vertical).

• Canopy tree size

  Canopy tree plantings shall be a minimum of two inches in caliper at the time of planting, and a minimum of eight feet in height.

• Interior landscaping

  Each landscaping island or median shall contain at least one canopy tree per every 153 square feet, and shrubs at a minimum rate necessary to ensure that at least 25 percent of the area is planted with shrubs.

• Landscape plan

  A landscape plan demonstrating how and where landscaping will be planted on a development site shall be included as a part of any Site Plan or Zoning Permit.

• Shrub size

  Shrub plantings shall be a minimum of 24 inches in height at the time of planting.

• Species diversity

  When 20 or fewer trees are required on a site, at least two different species shall be utilized, in roughly equal proportions. When more than 20 but fewer than 40 trees are required, at least three species; when 40 or more, at least four species.

• Tree canopy coverage

  Single-family residential developments shall provide a plan showing compliance with the Tree Canopy Coverage requirements of this section.

• Understory tree size

  Understory tree plantings shall have a caliper of one and one-half inches at time of planting, and be a minimum of six feet in height.

• Vehicular use area exemptions

  Single-family detached dwellings, two-family dwellings, and off-street surface vehicular use areas with three or fewer spaces are exempt from vehicular use area landscaping.

• Vehicular use area landscaping

  All vehicular use areas shall include interior and perimeter landscaping.
