Lighting

  Illumination of outdoor seating areas, building entrances, and walkways shall be accomplished by use of ground-mounted fixtures not more than four feet in height.

  No greater than 30 feet in commercial and mixed-use districts.

  The height of outdoor lighting in industrial districts shall be no greater than 30 feet.

• Maximum increase in industrial lighting heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first. with approval7.5 ft

  The authorized increase in the height of outdoor lighting does not exceed seven and one-half (7.5) feet above the thirty (30) foot maximum.

• Maximum outdoor lighting heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first. in residential districts16 ft

  The height of outdoor lighting, whether mounted on poles or walls or by other means, shall be no greater than 16 feet in residential districts.

• Threshold for full cut-off shielding60 watts

  Exterior light fixtures in excess of 60 watts or 100 lumens shall use downwardly-directed full cut-off lenses or hoods.

• Districts where upward lighting is permitted

  Upwardly-directed lighting of structures and landscaping is permitted in the D1 district, the Innovation Overlay District, an Entertainment Overlay District, and where specifically indicated.

• Wall pack shielding requirement

  Wall packs on the exterior of the building shall be fully shielded (e.g., true cut-off type bulb or light source not visible from off-site) to direct the light vertically downward and be of low wattage.
