Lighting

• Average maintained lighting level for high security areas15 fc

  Fifteen (15) footcandles for high security areas, such as, but not limited to, automated teller machines (ATMs) and vehicle fuel station canopies.

• Average maintained lighting level for industrial uses not open to public1.5 fc

  Industrial uses that are not open to the general public shall provide one and one-half (1.5) footcandles average maintained lighting levels for parking lots, along fronts of buildings and main drive aisles.

• Average maintained lighting level for multifamilyMultifamily dwellingA building of four or more dwelling units. Where zoning is most restrictive. buildings, parking lots and other areas5 fc

  The average maintained lighting levels for multifamily units shall be five (5) footcandles at buildings, parking lots and other areas.

• Average maintained lighting level for nonresidential parking lots5 fc

  Five (5) footcandles for parking lots, along fronts of buildings and main drive aisles.

• Full cut-off and fully-shielded fixtures required

  Full cut-off and fully-shielded lighting fixtures shall be required.

• Lighting reduction to security levels after close of business

  Lighting levels shall be reduced to security lighting levels within thirty (30) minutes after the close of business or the end of the business activities involving the public.

• Maximum lighting level at common property line for multifamilyMultifamily dwellingA building of four or more dwelling units. Where zoning is most restrictive. residential0.5 fc

  The maximum maintained lighting levels for multifamily residential uses shall not exceed five-tenths (0.5) footcandles at any common property line.

  Outdoor display areas used in concurrence with vehicle sale, rental and ancillary service establishments shall not exceed twenty (20) footcandles measured horizontally at grade.

• Maximum lighting level for outdoor vehicle display areas with CUP30 fc

  A lighting level, not to exceed thirty (30) footcandles, may be specified by the board with approval of a conditional use permit or proffered condition.

• Maximum parking lot light pole heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first.30 ft

  Parking lot light fixtures poles shall not be more than thirty (30) feet in height.

• Minimum maintained lighting level for industrial uses during non-daylight hours0.5 fc

  Industrial uses that are not open to the general public shall maintain a minimum of five-tenths (0.5) footcandle during non-daylight hours.

  Flashing, revolving or intermittent exterior lighting visible from a property line or street. High intensity lights, such as, but not limited to, outdoor search lights, lasers or strobe lights unless used as part of a security system.

  All light fixtures/light poles shall be set back a minimum of one foot for every foot in height from any residential property line, property line where residences are located, or any right-of-way.
