Lighting

• Flashing prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  All outdoor lighting shall utilize light sources with correlated color temperature not to exceed three thousand Kelvin (K).

  Within one hundred feet of a residential zoning district: Sixteen feet.

  The light level at property lines shall not exceed 0.3 foot-candle.

• Parking lot lighting requirement

  Parking lot lighting shall not exceed the levels needed to provide low level safety lighting for parking lot areas, as demonstrated by photometric plans. Lighting shall be on motion sensors to minimize lighting when not in use.

• Patio lights off time after close30 minutes

  Commercial string lights and other patio lighting shall be turned off no more than thirty minutes after close of business.

• Shielding requirement

  All outdoor lighting shall be Dark-Sky compliant or equivalent. Light sources shall be designed and adjusted to direct light away from any road or street and away from any property or buildings outside the ownership of the applicant.

• Timing control requirement

  All outdoor lighting in nonresidential development shall be on a time clock or photo-sensor system and turned off during daylight hours and during hours when the building or, in the case of shopping centers, all buildings, are not in use.

• Up-lighting prohibitedProhibitedNot allowed in the district at all, short of rezoning or a variance.

  Up-lighting (lighting directed higher than ninety degrees from the ground) is prohibited.
