No fences or other enclosures around any lots or sections in Lakeview Cemetery shall be permitted to be erected which shall be more than 12 inches high.

It shall be unlawful for any person to keep more than four dogs... No dog house, pen or kennel shall be maintained closer than ten feet... Chickens or other fowl may not be kept within 200 feet... beehive requirements...

The keeping of horses shall be permitted in the suburban-agricultural zone.

In a general business (B-G) zone or in a residential district R-3 zone;

The density restrictions established by this section shall have no application to beehives kept, placed or maintained on any parcel of real property of one acre or larger in size or on any parcel zoned R-S, residential suburban.

No building or structure, including signs, shall be erected, reconstructed, altered or restored within any such district unless approved by the review board or, on appeal, by the town council of the town, as being architecturally compatible with the historic landmarks, buildings or structures therein.

All uses, activities, and development occurring within any floodplain district shall be undertaken only upon the issuance of a zoning permit. ... New construction and substantial improvements shall be anchored to prevent flotation, collapse, or lateral movement.

Only one satellite antenna which shall not exceed 12 feet in diameter may be erected or installed on any one building lot in the town regardless of the zoning district in which it is located.

It shall be unlawful for any owner or occupant of any private property... to have any weeds, grass, plants or other vegetation... which have grown to a height in excess of ten inches.

It shall be unlawful for any person residing in or having charge or control of any dwelling within the town, to leave or permit to remain outside of any such dwelling any household appliances or household furniture...

It shall be unlawful for any person to deface or damage private or public property, by or through the application of graffiti.

It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, place, maintain or continue any pen, coop, yard or other building upon any lot or ground in the town for the purpose of confining or housing any bird...

Open burning is permitted in agricultural zones only for forest management and agriculture practices... The burning shall be at least 1,000 feet from any occupied building.

It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, make or contribute to creating any loud or disturbing noise... The following acts... are declared to be loud and disturbing noises...

The limits in which storage of flammable liquids in outside aboveground tanks is prohibited, and the limits in which bulk storage of liquefied petroleum gas is restricted, are hereby established the area contained within the following bounds: Bounded on the north by Division Street; on the east by North High Street and South High Street; on the south by Irvin Street, and on the west by the right-of-way of the Norfolk and Western Railway Company.

The Town of Blackstone hereby adopts the following provision of the 2009 Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code. This section shall apply to newly constructed commercial buildings or structures, newly constructed industrial buildings or structures and to newly constructed multifamily residential structures that have restricted access through locked doors and have a common corridor for access to the living units. ... Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire-fighting purposes, the fire code official is authorized to require a Knox Box be installed in an approved location not to exceed three to five feet off the ground.

The owner of any home, business, apartment, factory or any other building shall properly display a house number. These numbers must be at least three inches in height and must be displayed so as to be clearly visible from the street in front of the building.

The use of shotguns and rifles of less than .23 caliber and bows and arrows to hunt in compliance with state law shall be permitted on tracts of land of 50 acres or more, in agricultural zones.

The discharge of archery equipment for the taking of deer inside the town boundaries may occur on parcels of private property which in combination total three or more acres with written permission from the property owners... No person shall discharge a bow within 100 yards of any dwelling, building, street, sidewalk, alley or roadway.

The outdoor fired furnace shall be located in compliance with side, rear and front setbacks required by the Town of Blackstone's zoning ordinance. All outdoor fired furnaces shall be at a minimum 50 feet to the nearest occupied structure not served by the furnace.
