- Buffer retention
The buffer area shall be retained in its natural state and shall not be disturbed, except as otherwise provided in this article.

A stormwater management plan shall be submitted for all development and redevelopment subject to this article.

A stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) shall be prepared for all land-disturbing activities subject to this article.
- Water quality impact assessment required
A water quality impact assessment shall be submitted for all development and redevelopment within the CBPA Overlay District that involves: (1) Land disturbance of one acre or greater; (2) Development within an RPA; or (3) Development that may result in a significant impact on state waters.
- Water quality volume for development0.5 inch
For development, the water quality volume shall be the Alexandria water quality volume default, unless a greater volume is required by the regulations.
- Water quality volume for redevelopment0.25 inch
For redevelopment, the water quality volume shall be 50 percent of the Alexandria water quality volume default, unless a greater volume is required by the regulations.
