An accessory apartment shall only be considered as an accessory use to a detached single family residence and no accessory apartment shall be located in any structure other than the principal structure on the lot. Maximum floor area: not more than 50 percent of the finished floor area of the principal dwelling, but in no case shall exceed 1,000 square feet. Only one accessory apartment allowed per lot. Minimum floor area: 300 square feet. One parking space shall be required in addition to required parking for the principal dwelling.
