Height

Lighting

  • Lighting directed downward

    All lighting shall be directed downward toward the interior of the development. No lighting shall be used that interferes with airfield operations.

Noise

  • Noise level reduction for non-residential uses35 dB

    All other occupied buildings and structures located in noise contours 65 DNL or greater must achieve an outdoor to indoor noise level reduction of 35 dB.

Other

  • Landscaped berm between use and residential4 ft

    A four-foot high landscaped berm with a 3:1 slope and a two-foot wide top shall be installed between any proposed use and any existing residential unit located within 500 feet of any building on the lot.

  • Minimum lot size for properties in noise contours 65-70 DNL and 70-75 DNL shall be one acre or the minimum lot size prescribed by the underlying zoning district, whichever is greater.

  • Parking buffer from street

    If parking is proposed between the building and any street bordering the property, there shall be a buffer and landscaping arranged so that the parking lot is effectively screened from public view from the street.

  • Residential sound transmission control

    All residential dwellings in 65 DNL or greater shall conform with sound transmission control regulations and airport noise attenuation standards set out in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.
