- Architectural review required
Prior to any alteration, renovation, dismantling, modification, relocation or demolition to the Caleb Williamson House, the board of historic and architectural review, as defined in section 12-705 above, and the Chesapeake Historic Preservation Commission, shall be consulted, and asked to review the proposed action and provide comments and input to assure that the historic character of the structure is preserved.

No such review shall be required for routine maintenance, like-kind replacement, emergency repairs, all of which shall be reviewed and approved by the city manager or designee, or if the Caleb Williamson House is deemed to be unsafe under the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code or under chapter 14 of the City Code.
