  • Continued use allowed

    Surry County may permit the continued use, but not necessarily the expansion, of any structure in existence on December 19, 1991.

  • Expansion conditions

    The administrator may grant a nonconforming use waiver for structures on legal nonconforming lots or parcels to provide for remodeling and alterations to such nonconforming structures provided that: 1. There will be no net increase in nonpoint source pollutant load; 2. Any development or land disturbance exceeding an area of 2,500 square feet complies with all erosion and sediment control requirements of this part.
