• Display area location

  Except for large outdoor display areas, the display area must be located either on raised gasoline pump islands or immediately adjacent to the front or side of the principal building, and not in drive aisles, loading zones, fire lanes, parking lots, or within any required buffer, planting area, or area required to meet minimum sidewalk width.

• Clearance in front of primary building entrances10 ft

  Outdoor display areas must maintain a clearance in front of primary building entrances for at least ten feet directly outward from the entrance width.

• Large outdoor display area threshold7,500 sqftsq ftSquare feet. An acre is 43,560 sq ft; a typical suburban lot is 7,000–10,000.

  Any outdoor display areas over 7,500 square feet in area and any display of trailers, sheds, or similar merchandise must comply with the standards in subsection A above and, in addition, with the following requirements:

  Sheds, trailers, and similar merchandise must be set back a minimum of 25 feet from the fence.

  The outdoor display area must be screened by a fence a minimum of six feet in height made of wrought iron, masonry, or other material of a similar quality and finish as the principal structure;

• Large display area must be to side of building

  The outdoor display area must be located to the side of the principal building and must not extend more than 25 feet from the front façade;

• Maximum extension from exterior wall15 ft

  Except for large outdoor display areas, the display area must not extend more than 15 feet from the exterior wall of the principal building and must comply with the minimum setbacks that apply to the principal structure.

• Minimum sidewalk width abutting display area5 ft

  Any sidewalk abutting an outdoor display area must have a minimum width of five feet.
