General provisions
588 rules that bind every district rather than one — sign regulations, parking, floodplain and the rest of the code’s citywide chapters.
Slaughtering establishments must be set back 500 ft from residential lot lines, max lot coverage 30%.
Temporary outdoor sales facilities must be set back 50 ft from street pavement, 100 ft from residential lots, have parking for 5 customers plus employees, and no portable toilets.
Communication towers require a conditional use permit. Setbacks: 50 ft from residential property lines, 25 ft from nonresidential, 100 ft from streets, 200 ft or 110% of height from residential structures. Min lot area 2,000 sqft, min width 50 ft, max height 199 ft. Parking: 2 spaces.
Airports and helistops must comply with FAA and state standards. Helistops limited to on/off loading, no refueling/repair.
Kennels must be set back 500 ft from residential lot lines (200 ft if soundproofed). Animals confined 9pm-7am. Veterinary with kennel: max 25% of floor area for kenneling, outdoor runs fenced, setback 50 ft from property lines.
Mobile homes ≥19 ft wide on permanent foundation permitted as single-family in agricultural districts. Lesser width require CUP with lot ≥20 acres, setbacks 200 ft from street, 400 ft from other residences.
Temporary mobile homes for office/sales require parking at 1 space per 200 sqft of floor area.
Accessory uses and structures shall be permitted only in connection with and incidental to a permitted principal use or structure and in compliance with the restrictions of this ordinance.
