CANOPY—A permanent structure or architectural projection of rigid construction over which a covering is attached that provides weather protection, identity, or decoration. A canopy is permitted to be structurally independent or supported by attachment to a building on one or more sides.
CANOPY, GASOLINE SALES—A roofed structure that is not enclosed by walls but is attached to and supported by columns extending from the ground or by a combination of a building and columns extending from the ground.
All temporary structures shall be removed from the site prior to the issuance of the last Certificate of Occupancy (CO) for the subdivision or development site.
Except as permitted in Sec. 33.1 of the City Code, no building or other permit shall be issued for a proposed commercial use unless such use is located on a lot that abuts a fully improved street.

The height of a detached garage or carport shall not exceed the height of the principal structure. Detached or attached carports may be located in front of the front façade but shall not be more than 18 feet from the front setback of the principal structure.
Accessory dwelling units are only permitted on lots with single-family detached dwellings. Not more than one accessory dwelling unit per lot is permitted. Gross floor area at least 300 sq ft and not exceed 25% of principal floor area. At least one but no more than two off-street parking spaces.
Towers associated with a ham radio operator or private television antenna shall not exceed 75 feet above grade. Towers or antennas attached to a principal structure shall be located on a side or rear elevation. Freestanding towers or antennas shall be located behind the principal structure.
A gasoline canopy may be attached to a principal structure or freestanding. Shall meet minimum setbacks for principal structure. Maximum height of 15 feet measured from finished grade to underside of canopy. Design shall match principal building. No internal illumination.
The minimum lot size shall be 5,000 square feet. No more than one chicken for every 2,000 square feet of lot area. No more than six chickens. All housing and fencing in rear yard, at least 15 feet from side or rear lot line. No roosters. Sale of eggs prohibited.
Signage is limited to a single, non-illuminated, flat sign of nine square feet. Retail sales shall not be permitted, except as an approved temporary use. Plantings shall not obstruct roadway visibility. Perimeter fencing subject to district standards.
A maximum of two home occupations are permitted for a residence. The business or service does not exceed 25 percent of the gross floor area of the principal structure. No person who is not a resident shall be employed. No outdoor display or storage. No retail sales on premises.
Limited fuel/oil/bottled gas distribution may only be an accessory use to convenience stores with gasoline sales, retail sales large, and other retail sales establishments.
Use of private marinas, docks, or boating facilities shall be limited to a specific membership and shall not be intended for the general public or commercial purposes. Dry stacking of boats outside enclosed structures shall be prohibited. Exterior lighting shall comply with Sec. 40.2-306.
All outdoor display of goods shall be located immediately adjacent to the storefront, or building sides, and not in drive aisles, loading zones, fire lanes, or parking lots. The height of the outdoor display shall not exceed eight feet. Outdoor sales shall not include hazardous and flammable materials.
Each outdoor storage area shall be incorporated into the overall design of the principal structure and located to the side or rear. Each area shall be screened and fully enclosed. Height of materials shall not exceed height of screening. Flammable liquids in excess of 1,000 gallons stored underground.
Produce stands may be permitted as an accessory to a principal use provided that they are limited to the retail sale of agriculture and horticulture products and do not remain in the same location for more than six months.
